My photography is featured in a new book on do-it-yourself herbal bitters.

I worked with the herbal apothecary behind the Burlington, Vermont based Urban Moonshine to create images for their first book – DIY Bitters: Reviving the Forgotten Flavor – A Guide to Making Your Own Bitters for Bartenders, Cocktail Enthusiasts, Herbalists, and More.

This wonderful book is full of information on gathering herbs, creating tinctures and combining to make bitters for health and culinary delights.

We had a great time capturing the magical summer light with the authors, plants and techniques involved in creating bitters.

I saw this on VT public tv the other night! Great film! Fun to see our valley’s own Michael Egan.

I had the opportunity to photograph a Christmas book earlier this year and now it is hitting the shelves of bookstores. The book is called An Old Fashioned Christmas: Sweet Traditions for Hearth and Home and the author, Ellen Stimson, lives in Dorset, Vermont. I photographed her author photo for two previous humorous memoirs, Mud Season and Good Grief!

I was excited when she asked me to shoot this book, which is about her family’s Christmas foods and traditions, like special ornaments, cookies, and champagne, plus lots of really yummy savory offerings.

The book is published by Norton and is currently the #1 New Release in Christmas Cooking on Amazon.

Here are a few of the photos appearing in the book.

And here we are at the official book launch party at Northshire Bookstore on November 21st.
